The place is great, the food is delicious and de price is just right. Kid's menu is about $3.90. Great deal all together. My kids and I had the chicken it was moist and cooked on the point. My husband had the beef plate and he loved it. We will sure come back. You might order one if their juices or guarana, a Brazilian soda;).

I came here with my family. I tried to ignore the reviews because I wanted to give them a chance. Well, for my luck the service was horrible. I ordered the steak with brown rice, beans and mash potatoes. Also the tiny cheese bread. The rice and the beans in my order was cold. I asked the employee to heat it up for me. Well, he said not to worry that he will bring a new order to my table. Nice. Few minutes later he came to my table to tell me that the manager told him to remove the rice from my plate. I thought that maybe he wanted to make sure I didn't eat the rice. But for my surprise they heat up the whole dinner. Including the steak and mash potatoes. So now my steak was not medium well anymore. Now it was overcooked. This manager doesn't know how to run a restaurant. So unprofessional. First and last time.

Tushar beats the socks off the all you can eat places when it comes to value. For about $10 you can get the Brazilian special which includes a skewer of delicious, juicy chicken or sweet glazed pork, white or brown rice, black beans, and salad. The initial plate might not seem like much food, but once you start eating you realize you aren't going to be hungry again for at least ten hours. We've tried virtually everything on the menu with the exception of some of the specialty drinks and cod fritters. The meats are great, the sides are rib sticking, the appetizers and desserts are irresistible. We usually end up paying about $15 a piece because we can't help but get all the little extras like cheese bread, fried bananas, guarana, and passion fruit mouse for dessert. Even so, two of us eat for the price of one person at the rodizio style Brazialian places, and we leave just as happy. Bring the kids and get them meat skewers, grilled pineapple, cheese bread, or a smoothie. There is something for everybody here, and genuine, friendly owners that remember you and great you in Portuguese if you happen to speak the language. Also, for those in the know, they have great farofa. 'Nuff said.

Delicious, tender means. The best fast chicken I've ever had- rivals much finer restaurants. Super friendly people too. As I stood at the menu trying to figure out what to order, one of the employees came out from behind the counter and talked to me about what to choose. Wow, unheard of!! And everyone here is Brazilian! Love that!

Food was excellent as usual, they were out of the raspberry drink and the cheesecake. Loved the Tushar drink as it was so flavorful, I believe it was my first time drinking cashews with passion fruit. Owner is such a cool down to earth guy, hope this place sticks around as the food is always consistently awesome.

There were 5 people in line when I arrived, and clearly a new cashier working. The cashier was taking a long time with the first 2 customers and a manager ended up taking over and getting the next 3 people through before handing the counter back to the new cashier right as I stepped up. Waited a total of 15 min before I got to put in my order. It was another 20 min before my food arrived, and that's when I lost it. The wait I could handle, but the bad food I couldn't. I ordered the Grilled Onion Steak cooked rare, and what I got was closer to well-done. I brought the steak back to one of the chefs and showed him what I'd cut into. He offered to grill up a new one right away, but by then, I wasn't interested in waiting for another mediocre piece of meat. Not coming back.

Although a great concept, this restaurant falls a bit short on execution. I have dined at many true Brazilian restaurants and the flavors did not come close to honoring Brazil. Having said that, the beef and the glazed pork skewers had potential. The meat, was under seasoned and was inconsistent from bite to bite (my first couple pieces of meat were dry and the rest were moist). The veggies were seriously over-cooked to the point of being mushy and had an off-flavor rendering them inedible. If you are looking for true Brazilian food, I would steer clear of here. If you just want a basic skewer/light meal, give it a try.

Went for a quick lunch and ordered the chicken skewer meal with three sides. I was really hungry and added a medium-rare beef skewer for an extra 2.50. The three sides I got were brown rice, fried banana, and mashed potatoes. Fried bananas were soft and sweet. Mashed potatoes were really really good. Between the chicken and beef skewer, I preferred the beef because it was more juicy. Service was excellent, lighting was darker, and the restaurant itself was very clean. Total with a drink was just under $15 so I'd say give value 3.5 stars but quality of meal 4.5 stars. Next time, I'd like to try the pork skewers along one of their specialty drinks which looks delicious.

Food isn't bad. However generally the service seems not all that interested in helping you. More or less there to take your order and sometimes look at your rather dumb when you go to hunt for things around the corner. I like their mash potatoes. However - seems a tad bit over priced for what it is. Hard to get lunch (which you aren't even waited on) for under 12 bucks with a drink. Overall a decent lunch spot that can improve by working on their meat pricing. I am mean I happy to get a BOAT of sides but in reality I am there for the meat. Also their menu could use some clarifying as I often get confused on what some things are and how combo's work. Try the fried bananas they are great!

Food was great! All items were perfectly seasoned. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. Immediately walking in my fiancé and I were greeted by many staff members. I got the chicken skewer with brown rice, steamed veggies, and fried bananas. The fried bananas were a great way to end my meal. Will be coming back again to try other items on the menu!

It's so awesome to have a true Brazilian lunch in Salt Lake. The beef is cooked to order, the rice and beans are authentic and they have Farofa!! Mashed potatoes are awesome as well. Pão de queijo is great too. I wish there was one closer to downtown but only time will tell. Obrigadão por levar o almoço brasileira ao Utah gente!

I gave Tushar five stars but considered four stars. The higher review won because the food was delicious. I had the Beef and Cheese skewers. I also had the mixed vegetables that were terrific. I don't typically order veggies at restaurants because they are typically no better than birds eye steamables that you get at Walmart. These vegetables were great. I washed it all down with the Brazilian Limeade which was delicious. The only complaints I have was the temperature inside, unusually hot and the overall pricing. I think they should consider two skewers for their meal instead of just one. $35.00 for three skewers and all the fixings was kind of steep considering that they are an "Express" type of establishment. Quality of food got them five stars, the two complaints I had almost cost them one of those stars.

Prepare to wait just a few minutes. Your food is made to order! You even choose the done-ness of your beef! The food: We had the beef skewer, cheese skewer, pao de queijo (cheese rolls), rice, beans, mashed potatoes, and steamed veggies. I was impressed with everything. Meat was simply seasoned but perfect. Pao de queijo was perfectly chewy and fresh. I always hate veggies at restaurants but these were actually good tasting and not limp. Make sure to add some farofa (it's by the soda machine) to your beans and rice for extra authenticity. The atmosphere: Incredible, especially since this isn't a sit down restaurant. Modern interior, phone charging stations at each booth, clean. The service: The manager came over to our table. Twice. Once to ask is "if we needed anything, like more beans or rice." The second time to offer us MORE cheese rolls on the house! Enough said. :) We will be returning.

Never had Brazilian food before this. Tushar was pretty good. It seems like it's right in between fast food and a sit down restaurant. You order and pay up front but they still don't hesitate to offer more while you're enjoying your meal. I believe it's family owned. You can tell they really put more effort into making your visit with them satisfying so the service was great. The food was pretty good. Very flavorful and large servings! The prices aren't bad either. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. We will be back in the future next time we get a craving for Brazilian.

Amazing Brazilian food!! The workers are such friendly people and are always happy with great customer service. The food quality is wonderful and the pricing is very reasonable. I love coming here and would recommend to anyone.

Awesome, Healthy. Priced Right. Great Flavor. I have been meaning to stop by for months and finally did 3 days ago and have gone back 3 days in a row. They have a very clean and healthy dish with grilled chicken skewers and a very big salad for just $8. If you are eating healthy and want some flavor with your meal, this is the spot. Not only is the food healthy, but is tastes great and fresh. The restaurant is well designed, clean, and pleasant for meetings, family, and a quick lunch. the staff has always been smiling and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone if you are anywhere near South Jordan Utah.

Really yummy and fast Brazilian food. Everything we tried was delicious. Get the fried cheese stick...yummmm. I wish we had one in Mesa, AZ!! I'll definitely go back next time we're in utah.

Take your time with your order lots of unique flavors to try and have fun with, it's a great place!

  • Oliver J.

Solid experience. I chose the pineapple skewer and three side dishes along with some cheese bread. Each side was delicious: black beans had a surprisingly great flavor, steamed vegetables were well seasoned, and the side salad was straightforward. The food did take a few more minutes to arrive than I expected, especially with the restaurant being practically empty. But the staff's friendliness compensated for any delay.

Great food! A little bit pricy for the amount of food that you get, but all of the food has great flavors. We will definitely go back.

  • Nelson A.

I found this place overpriced. The food was ok but the portions were extremely small.

    (3)
  • Chris B.

Exploring the area for lunch spots and came across this place. Certainly over priced. I can get Greek skewers across the street with hot rice for $4 less. The rice was bordering cold, and the beans straight from a can. The beef was ok, but the small skewer wasn't worth the price. The cheese bread was ok, but very small. For the price most places give you pieces 2-3 times that size. The building was nice and quiet. The staff were happy and helpful. It was weird to have exposed straws though for any hand to grab on during cold and flu season.

In the mood for churrasco, but not near any of the usual suspects? Maybe you don't have the time to be seated and turn the tumblers up and down and just need a quick fix? Perhaps you love the concept but really wish you could more easily just get to the goodies that want right away? Any and all of these are good reasons to visit here. There were precious few people there, which, reading through the reviews, seems to be the case more often than not. I understand they do some sort of dance party thing here at various times, which sounds interesting, but I don't get out that way enough. It's nice and dim inside, but is bordering on upscale. Everything seems rather new and clean, but exterior signage is difficult to see. You may drive by this place unless looking specifically for it. Fresh pineapple juice was pretty solid, but a bit over-iced. Cheese rolls were solid. Fried cheese was interesting, but probably not on the short list of stuff I would order again. Glazed pork needed a bit more glaze and the beef also was a bit light on the flavor side and slightly overcooked. Portion size was also a bit smaller than expected. While admire the concept, cubing the meat on a skewer and then trying to create the same effect as roasting on a spit just doesn't quite make it. The other side is if you're going to one of those places, you're implicitly agreeing to a meat overload. Trying to get to that level here would run you into significant bucks. I like the place a lot; I think the owners constant attention is a great touch and conceptually, I like this idea a lot, but I'm not sure it needs an actual restaurant of this size. I think they'd be better off doing the full deal here and then if they want skewers, going to a food truck or something like that, maybe more of a smaller place with a service counter, that sort of thing. All in all, though, this is a really solid option for the area and I hope they're able to dial things in and establish a good customer base.

This is our second time coming to Tushar and we love it!! Make sure you try the cheese rolls, grilled pineapple, and the specialty smoothies!!!

  • Ben B.

The food here is generally good. Tonight the sides (rice, beans, fried bananas) were tasty but the meat (beef) was a little over cooked. I ordered medium well but it was well well done. And then we had to wait 45 minutes for them to bring the cheese bread. They forgot the first time and then when reminded still took twenty minutes to get them out. I expected them to apologize and bring out one or two extra cheese breads for their error, but they didn't. Overall still a good experience, just not great.

  • Greg M.

The pork was decent. The pineapple was good but overpriced. The beef was bland. When I have Brazilian I expect the flavors to pops not fizzle. It's very dark inside too. The meat was inconsistent as to flavor and texture. One piece would taste good, the next would make your jaw sore. The grilled veggies were tasty but mushy.

Took my wife here last night for a date. My top take-aways from it: Food was delicious! Service was bad. I got pork (unglazed) with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes. She got chicken with fries and side salad. The pork and chicken were juicy and tender. We also tried the fried bananas for a change, they were pretty good! Atmosphere feels a lot like Cafe Rio (oddly we were the only people there at 6pm). It's a clean, new looking venue. Cost us about $19, but the servings were perfect so we left satisfied. As far as service it was just a couple high school boys behind the counter, so you can't expect them to make efforts towards great customer service. The guy who brought our food out barely said a word. Aside form that though, not a bad place for dinner!

Great food and beverages specially the lemonade. The staff was very nice and helpful in providing the best way to help me with my choices..

  • Lee M.

Wow, this place is awesome. The ambiance is great and not what you would expect from such an inexpensive place. It cost us $12 to feed two people who are low carb. We got only skewers which were great. The cheese skewer is one giant piece of grilling cheese and I highly recommend it. They advertise being gluten free and seem to be low carb, maybe even Paleo. The outlets have usb ports too, which is pretty cool. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, smells good. Highly recommend.

Very warm, relaxed, clean environment. Quality ingredients. Very good food exhibiting subtle taste variations. Loved the onions with my steak. Mashed potatoes, fried bananas, Brazilian lemonade, passion fruit mousse, glazed pork skewer were very good. We will return.

Very good food! Went to a wedding that was catered by Tushar and it was the best catered wedding food I've had in a long time!!! 2 thumbs up!!

Yummy Brazilian food!! We came here on a Saturday night and the place had about 4 other tables. The layout is much like Rumbi's where you order what your food at the counter and they bring out your food when it's ready. We ordered the onion steak dinner and the beef and pineapple skewers, and the coxinha. The steak was good, but was laden with raw onions. We would have preferred it cooked, so will probably ask them to cook it next time. The beef skewer was a mix of some really soft parts and some tougher parts, overall the flavor was good and satisfied the carnivore in me. The pineapple skewer was probably my favorite part of the meal. Very juicy and sweet and came grilled to perfection! The sides were also pretty good. We expected the rice to be just plain, but it was flavorful and had a bit of seasoning in it. The veggies were also perfectly cooked and had good seasoning. I will probably skip the salad (just a simple green salad) and try the fried bananas next time. We were also very ecstatic to have found a place that serves coxinha in SLC. It's a lightly fried appetizer with dough and shredded chicken. It was a bit salty for my taste, but we genuinely enjoyed it. The owner was very nice and accomodating. We got some free cheese bread while waiting for our food and when he realized he forgot our coxinha appetizer, he brought out some chocolate cake for us. Such a sweet man! With your Yelp check in, you get free sodas, and when you enter in your phone number when you pay up front, you get a text for a free pineapple drink. Everyone around us also had Brazilian lemonades, so we will be sure to try it out next time. We only had one party ahead of us but it did take just a little longer for our food to come out which was fine, just a heads up for anyone coming here starving or expecting "fast food" service.

Tasty and affordable lunch menu. Will come back for more. Great and helpful service. Clean and hospitable environment. Alacy was warm and friendly.

This is an order and sit down type of place. The usual deal comes with a choice of protein with three sides. More than enough food. Food was quite tasty. Everything on the plate for the fact. The beef was so flavorful and tender. The fried bananas were so delicious. Mashed potatoes were amazing. And the rice was perfectly cooked. What not to love about the place? The people here are very friendly. The atmosphere was very nice, clean, and dim. Overall, I loved it and would definitely come again.

It was my first time to try their food. It was really good. I like their clean interior. I felt like I was in Brazil. The owners were very kind. They are always smile. I will definitely come back with my family again.

Been to Brazil and miss the local street foods, then this is the place. There skewer meals are really good, but I dove in for the Coxinha and Pao de Quejo. It was as authentic as it gets and for a reasonable price. Additionally, the restaurant was very clean and spacious, so I felt comfortable.

  • Jennifer C.

We tried the family platter and chose the chicken kabobs, veggies, cheese bread, mango juice, fried banana and fries. The kabobs are small pieces of chicken, over cooked and don't have much flavor. The veggies were good and crisp. The cheese bread is awesome and the mango juice was okay. I tried a shot of the lemonade and it was amazing! I would go back for lemonade and cheese bread. The sides are huge and you gets tons of food.

The mashed potatoes are so good! Along with the beef kebabs. Don't forget the Brazilian lemonade! Great place that is affordable and quick!

Great to find a place that serves Brazilian food that's not a expensive barbecue restaurant. This is not exactly authentic but gives you a American version of some typical Brazilian food. The beans are good and more traditional and don't forget to top them with farofa. Their tropical juices are a fun reminder of Brazil as is their pao de queijo and coxinha.

I absolutely love Tushar's food. I lived in Brazil and tushar is my go to place to give me an amazing Brazilian experience here in the states. The price is very reasonable and the portions are big! Tushar is a must!

My boyfriend and I went to Tushar's last night 30 minutes before closing. We were worried about the food not being fairly represented since the restaurant was empty and it was 30 minutes til closing (which usually means the food will have been sitting under a lamp for the past couple hours). However, we were happily wrong...the food was DELICIOUS! He ordered the Beef skewer meal with black beans, rice and mashed potatoes as his sides, along with a Strawberry Brazilian Lemonade. I ordered the Daily Special, which included the Glazed Pork Loin skewer, black beans, rice and a green salad. I also got a side order of fried banana and cheese rolls to share. The manager politely told my boyfriend they were out of Strawberry flavoring for his lemonade, so he went with Passion Fruit instead. To make up for not having the correct flavor, the manger gave me a Brazilian Lemonade of my choosing (I went with mango..yum!). Both lemonades were delicious and worth the price ($2.95). Our food was served in LARGE portions...tons of rice, beans, salad and mashed potatoes. All the meat was very flavorable and almost melted in your mouth. The beans were tasty and the mashed potatoes were INCREDIBLE - silky, creamy, and a punch of flavor! A MUST! The cheese bread was above par and the fried banana was wonderful - not soggy like most places. We ate about half our plates each and were completely stuffed full. Overall, we were very happy to have an yummy affordable Brazilian restaurant in our neighborhood! The management team was warm, helpful and inviting and the interior was clean and well decorated. We will be recommending this place to our friends and family and DEFINITELY be going back for Round 2!

We visited here for the first time with our four kids. The customer service was excellent, and the food was delicious. The onion top sirloin was delicious. As was the beef skewers. The kids loved the chicken nuggets-real chicken breast. The mashed potatoes are awesome. The owner then brought out mini ice creams for our very loud and messy kids. We loved it and will be coming back!

We really wanted to like this place. We ordered take out - chicken skewers with brown rice/steamed veggies/fried bananas, grilled cheese stick, and the 8 oz steak with fries/salad/mashed potatoes. When we arrived to pick up the food the owner kindly greeted us as soon as we walked in the door. He went back to get the food and showed it to us before bagging it up. It was nicely presented and looked delicious! Well, we were disappointed...as I said we really wanted to like this place, but the food was so, so salty. More salt is not better when it comes to flavoring food! Whenever I took a bite it felt like I had a salt bomb. I probably consumed several days worth of sodium in just that one meal. It really bugs me how so many restaurants just go overkill on the salt. I hope the owner will use less salt in the future - it will make the food so much better.

  • Jeff N.

After my meal last night, I am in a wait and see mode. This is a great concept! I would love to see this restaurant improve and thrive. It is clear that the owner is passionate about his vision. I would love to taste more of the flavor and feel more of the energy Brazil is known for. I prefer my food well seasoned. The black beans were alright, with a nice smoky flavor. The rice is a humble side dish by design. I had hoped for more from the beef skewer. Perhaps Tushar could offer a more seasoned version of their skewers with a little more salt and plenty of garlic. The beef was moist and cooked the way I like it. Medium-well can be a challenge (too bloody or to dry). Tushar got this right. For people that like mildly seasoned food, they will be very happy. On the bright side, this is a nice restaurant in a good location with many other options to bring foodies to the area. The service was good. I love a good Brazilian lemonade and Tushar did not disappoint. Keep me posted if you add some more well-seasoned options to the menu. I would love to come back and try the grilled abacaxí (pineapple) and the pão de queijo. Turn up the music and have some fun! This is Brazil, after all. Boa sorte!

Tushar is the perfect place to get Brazilian food when you're not in the mood for the churrascaria experience. You can go for a meal or just a snack. The prices are affordable and you can get a little of everything.

  • Susan C.

The onion steak was delicious! Just the right amount of salt true to the Brazilian style of BBQ. Enjoyed the cochinha. Perfectly fried with the right amount of chicken. The people were helpful and very friendly. Wished we lived closer to come more often! The black beans are exactly like I remember them in Rio De Janeiro. And finally the price was extremely reasonable without any sacrifice in quality.

  • Anthony W.

The food tasted great. The portion size was decent and it's what you might expect for the price. The beef skewer when done medium rare was delicious and the glazed pork skewer was also very good when combined with the gravy from the mashed potatoes. The fried bananas are delicious. We will visit the place again and we liked the atmosphere, the friendly service, and something new.

Tushar's is a delightful Brazilian restaurant. Unlike most Brazilian places in the US--which are almost all Churrascuria's--Tushar's offers a limited but more traditional Brazilian menu focused on kabobs, feijoada (Brazilian black bean stew), fried bananas, rice, and a few other sides. My wife and I tried the food while visiting the SLC area recently and liked it so much we went back the very next day. The food is really delicious and the proprietor is one of the nicest people we have ever met. We enjoyed talking with him almost as much as we enjoyed his food. He also gets imported Brazilian fruit to make fresh juices. They are fantastic, and very much like the (incredibly good) fresh juices in Brazil. The Tushar salad is also great. Bottom line: quick, easy, delicious, and incredibly friendly.

I've been waiting for this place to open so I drove by to see if it was open so I could give it a try. It had a sign that said "Coming" but I saw people inside so I went in. They were still doing a pre-opening as mentioned in the first review so I got to participate due to mere luck. The menus weren't ready but I gathered that a typical lunch will be a choice of meat (beef, chicken or forgot it was lamb or pork???) and three sides. I ordered a beef kebab with fried plantains, black beans, and pineapple. They way they plated things it looked like there wasn't much there, but I did leave full. Maybe a slightly smaller plate would be a better option for them so that the plate looks full. In terms of portions and quality of food to price, the meal was a good value. They gave sample of soup and lemonade. The soups were a miss - too thick and wasn't a fan of the potatoes in the bisque. The lemonade might have been a Brazilian version, so it was not quite the expected flavor. They staff was extremely pleasant. I wish them the best. I will try them again once they open.

Awesome authentic Brazilian food! I was invited for a special pre-opening event and loved the food. I cant wait till it opens!! 8/15/13 - Went back today. They are now open to the public. Great food as always!!

  • Jutta W.

Pretty good meal. Everything was tasty though I thought the prices were slightly high for the single skewer meal. I really enjoyed the red potato mash. Avoid the gravy - it tasted like instant and added a bit of a dehydrated flavor to otherwise perfect potatoes. Friendly staff and quick service.

Forget about the Brazilian buffets, this place is legit and the prices won't break the bank! We celebrated a birthday here for my 5 year old and they all loved the food, the portions are good sized, and the Owner took fabulous care of us! Do yourself a favor and check this place out! You will be happy you did!

I quite enjoyed my experience at Tushar at lunch today. The skewers are prepared fresh and the rice and beans were really quite good. I also ordered some of the Brazilian cheese bread things. The cheese bread was really really good but they didn't come out until I was nearly done with the rest of my meal... I'll definitely be back again!

We were in yesterday afternoon 5/8/14. The food was wonderful. Only complaint was that it took thirty minutes to get our food. I thought it was more of a fast food place so that was very frustrating. Also while in there it appeared the owners came in after us and were handed food before us. We were the only other people in there at the time. I found that tacky. Owners enjoy your restaurant but make sure your paying customers come first!

This place is a ripoff. $8.00 for a bland chicken skewer, bland rice, bland black beans, and iceberg lettuce with a little bit of dressing? Really? I don't know why people love this place so much. Chipotle is a much better value, in my opinion.

    (1)

Love their potatoes but the chicken wings are the bomb. Not too hot and flavorful as can be. Owners are very present and take care of the customer. Will absolutely come back again and again.

The best Brazilian restaurant ever! I've been to Texas de Brazil, rodizio grill, braza grill, and others. You can notice that they care about their food. I am Brazilian and I felt like I was in Brazil. I love this place. I super recommend it!!!

We got a little bit of everything -- beef, chicken, and cheese skewers, coxinhas, risolis, fried bananas, and rice. It was delicious. Our only complaint was that it felt like not quite as much food as I'd expected when I ordered it.

I've been to other Utah Brazilian places like Tucanos and Braza and Rodizio. That was my experience so far with Brazilian food. Lots of it, at expensive prices. My favorite part about Tushar is that they have more of the traditional brazil food, at way lower prices than any other place I've been in Utah.

First time visitor for dinner. Excellent meal of beef and chicken skewers with rice, black beans and veggies. The meats were cooked perfectly with a light but very good spice, not hot or overwhelming. Great compliment to the meat and vegetables. Others in our party had other items that were equally very good. The location is easy to find and the decor is pleasant too. Will definitely come back again.

I have eaten a great deal of Brazilian food over the years and always try Brazilian restaurants when I travel. This Brazilian food was great. I really liked everything I ate. The Brazilian chicken wings were excellent, the coxinha was perfect. The rice and beans were very tasty and authentic. Seasoning of the meats was right on. I recommend it.

We were looking for a new restaurant to try tonight, and we'll definitely be coming back. The glazed pork and mashed potatoes are delicious and the steamed veggies are great (I usually hate how restaurants prepare steamed vegetables, but Tushar does it right). The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Simply amazing! My wife and I love REAL brazilian food and have been waiting for a place like this forever. The rice and beans were incredible! The beef and chicken was perfect! The Mousse and fried bananas and coxinhas were all perfectly authentic too. We will be going back often and telling all our friends about this place!

I so very much wanted this to be five stars. I love the whole Brazilian vibe, and eating at Rodizio (and the imitators) is always a joy. The prospect of getting that type of food close to home, fast, and not feeling compelled to overeat was irresistible. When I saw Tushar was opened I knew I had to go. My wife and I went there for lunch today. I ordered a beef skewer, she got a glazed pork skewer. We both got black beans as sides. I also got the fried bananas and cole slaw. She got the Caesar salad and mashed potatoes. We both got the Brazilian Lemonade. And we each got one....yup ONE...cheese roll, or whatever they are called. And we split a pineapple skewer. The tab came to about 27 bucks. Let me start with the skewers. I had expected flame roasted meats, not skewers. Skewers makes sense for this type of setting. They can be prepared beforehand, are easier to marinade, cook more quickly and consistently etc. So long as the skewers taste the same as the flame roasted meat it wouldn't matter. They didn't taste the same. My beef skewer suffered from a lack of seasoning. I yearned for that funky salty crust. The glazed pork skewer had no discernible glaze on it and had the same lack of seasoning as my beef. Both lacked a nice color. Neither had been marinated that I could determine. Perhaps the chicken everyone is raving about is better. The portion size was reasonable. The black beans were OK. They had a little too much garlic in them. I had expected some chunks of meat in there. My wife said she had some in hers. I dunno. The fried bananas were good. I had expected a little sprinkling of cinnamon and sugar on them, but they were just straight up. The cole slaw wasn't sweet enough or tart enough to be distinctive. Her potatoes/gravy were quite good. I didn't try her salad. She said that while it was fresh and tasted OK, it wasn't a Caesar. (Caesar salad has romaine lettuce, not iceberg).. The cheese balls were ordered individually and cost like fourty-something cents each. I thought that was pretty weird. Just serve them up five at a time and charge two bucks. They were OK. The Brazilian Lemonades were great. I can see myself stopping in for one of those when I am driving by. Finally there was the grilled pineapple. It is a simple formula. Fresh pineapple...grill it until you see a little carmelization...try not to screw it up. They managed to get it right. Access from the street is a bit of a trick. If you are driving west on 104th and see Tushar you have already missed the exit.

I had so wanted this establishment to be so much better than it was. In reality the food was mediocre. The meat was overcooked, under seasoned and chewy. The rice was very dry and flavorless. The ceaser salad was not a ceaser salad but simply a regular salad with a drizzle of ceaser dressing. The other sides were ok. Cheese bread balls were fine. Overall nothing spectacular. I will not be returning unfortunately there are better options in the valley.

Great food, helpful staff, and a well layed out restaurant. I loved the free wi-fi, USB charging ports on the wall, and very accessible was wash-room for kids. I'd definitely recommend Tushar for a quiet great meal.

I can't vouch for the authenticity because I have never had Brazilian food but this place is amazing. The food is fresh and delicious. The portions are more than worth the price. And the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. Every time I've eaten here the staff has been attentive and friendly but tonight was fantastic. We saw that they had soup on the menu but when we ordered they started they were still working to make it fantastic. It was kind of a funny excuse but we soon realized the truth. Right before our meal came the manager brought over some bowls of chicken enchilada soup. I'm not a fan of this flavor but theirs was great, actually it was better than any soup I've had at Zupa's. The manager asked for feedback and seemed to appreciate what we shared. Ten minutes after our food arrived he brought by some broccoli soup. It was a 5/10 but he knew it and quickly rattled off the changes he would like to make. I only write this to show how friendly and willing to improve their already great food they are. The manager made us two kinds of soup for free because he genuinely believes in the quality and satisfying the customer. Towards the end of our meal he brought by some cashew juice. I had no idea that cashews are a fruit and that I've been eating the wrong part! The juice was amazing. I would go back and pay for the chicken enchilada soup and the cashew juice anytime! Keep in mind the meal I actually ordered was great. Potatoes, vegetables, beef skewers. It was all delicious. You must try this place and take the time to talk to the staff. It was a great experience and we will continue to return! This whole strip mall has so many adventurous alternatives to a burger and fries. And they aren't chains so they take the time to make sure you're happy!

This took me back to Brazil, the food was great!! rice and beans and meat, what else more could you want in a Brazilian meal? They serve Guaraná Antártica and the mousse de maracujá was excelente!!! Definitely will go back and hope it's here for a while.

Great Brazilian food at a great price. Skewers, fried bananas and Brazilian lemonade were all great. Service was very good and the food came quick. It is so great to have a Brazilian restaurant in the area. I will definitely be going back.

  • Kevin L.

  • Amy N.

  • Amanda H.

    (3)

    (3)

  • Taylor R.

This place is awesome. I love Brazilian food and also have to eat gluten free. Almost everything is gluten free even the cheese bread! The owner Alacy is very friendly. Food and juices were all fresh and fantastic. Will be back for sure. Prices very reasonable great alternative to the all you can eat steak houses. Coming back to try the fried cheese skewer.

  • Kris T.

Very tasty. I have never been to a Brazilian restaurant where they didn't bring the food to your table. However, what I ordered was very tasteful. The only reason I didn't do 5 stars was for the amount of food the price was a little high. The staff was very friendly. The food was great. I could see myself coming back to Tushar for lunch when I return to the Sandy area again for work.

  • Nadia W.

I enjoyed how simple the menu was, you can order a couple of skewers, beef is the best. Good amount of sides, mash potatoes are good and their ranch is tasty. There are other options, I just tried the main dishes. The manager is very warm and bumps it from a 4 to a 5. the Brazilian soda is yummy. For the price you pay the value is good. The stuff was really nice as well.

    (5)
  • Matthew B.

Presentation was excellent. Prices were reasonable. Serving staff was gracious, friendly, and prompt. The pineapple was delicious. The creme brûlée was reasonably tasty. The skewered meat was tough, overcooked and over salted. The chicken wings were abominably dry and mostly flavorless. The meal gave me explosive diarrhea several hours later. 5 stars for cleanliness and atmosphere. Minus one star for a mix of good and below-expectations food, and minus two more for explosive diarrhea. One star remains. Eat at your own risk!

Not bad. It's a fast food version of a Churrascaria. The owners are SUPER nice. Very accommodating. They have a drink called the Amazon that didnt sound appetizing. it was delicious. Had their steak skewer. Needed a little seasoning but it was all still very good. The Coxinha is great. Its deep fried dough stuffed with chicken and yummy yummy yummy.

Wagner made food for a Brazilian dinner we hosted. Everyone loved the rice, beans, cheese rolls, flan, fried bananas, and passion fruit frozen mousse, but our favorite was the coxinha appetizers. Wow! Spiced shredded chicken baked in a bread crumb dough. Thank you!!

Spent many years in Brazil living in Rio, Sao Paulo, minas, etc. No question this is the closest restaurant to the real deal in the salt lake area. Rice, beans and mash I could've closed my eyes and tricked myself to believing I was in a churrascaria in Rio. Passion fruit juice was good too. It was the first time I had Farofa in years. My two issues are with the meat and overall price. I got the beef and it was OK. A little bland and too well done for my liking. They could use a rotisserie for their meats with sal grosso to add more authentic flavor. My wife got the chicken skewer and it was slightly under cooked towards the middle of the skewer. She never got sick but was worrisome, I'm hoping it was a fluke, become I really want to love and support this place. The price is steep. If you have kids go on Tuesday as they eat free. This place deserves another shot and we will be back for the rice, beans and mash.

Healthy, gluten free and dairy free food. I am lactose intolerant and they have always been sensitive to that. Both owners are there all the time and are great guys. I love the chicken, rice, and black beans. Their Brazilian salad is also amazing with raspberry dressing! Go eat here for healthy, yummy, refreshing food.

SO GOOD! First let me tell you how great the service is. They were warm, welcoming and explained everything to us, it was very attentive. I always get the onion steak, with mashed potatoes and fried bananas. Their mashed potatoes are amazing! It's my favourite thing about this place. I don't know what they put in it, but it's addictive. Make sure you get it with gravy (free). Their steak is also very good value but very inconsistent. They usually overcook and over salt it. It is very hit and miss.

Love their potatoes but the chicken wings are the bomb. Not too hot and flavorful as can be. Owners are very present and take care of the customer. Will absolutely come back again and again.

This place is close to my office so I eat there every week. Great selection. From traditional rice and beans to awesome steaks to delicious salads. You can't go wrong. And the service is amazing. Wagner, the owner, always greets everyone with a friendly smile.

  • Kris T.

    (4)
  • Shauna S.

Thank you!!

This was a great find. I stopped by for lunch and has the chicken skewers and the cheese skewer. They came out quick and delicious. The staff was extremely helpful walking my first time though their menu. If you are looking for a good place look no further.

The food here was great, meat was well cooked and very flavorful. Would def recommend and will be back for more! Make sure you go with an empty stomach so you can enjoy all they have!!!

This is a great restaurant ,not much uniquely brazilian though. The specialty drinks are good the sides are all tasty the meat skewers were a little dry they should have come with sauce

We tried Tushar during their soft opening, they are working out some kinks but nothing major. My wife and I both had the Brazilian Special for $6.95 which includes a marinated chicken kabob, rice, beans and a green salad, we both enjoyed our meals very much. We also ordered the Brazilian Cheese Rolls that were very tasty and fresh out of the oven hot, gluten free if your watching that. The food and service was very good, looking forward to future visits.

    (4)
  • H F.

Food was good but the menu is extremely limited. Basically it's chicken, pork or beef kabobs and sides. Forgot to give us our dessert and it seemed as though the people gathered around the front counter were family of the owners? Decent if you aren't looking for anything fancy.

    (3)
  • Miranda L.

The grilled pineapple skewers are delicious; however, everything else was a little plain. My sides were brown rice, a Caesar salad, and steamed veggies. I think I just didn't get the best sides. The Caesar salad had way too much dressing on it, the veggies were overpowered by seasonings, and the rice was a little overdone. I would be fine if I never went back but I'm not against it, the pineapple was really good.

Omg, we are here on a whim. When we walked in, we almost left.... SO GLAD WE DIDN'T!!! We had the Onion Steak, streamed veggies, fried bananas, and wings.... OMG!!! Seriously, best steak I have had in a LONG time, and I eat steak at lots of expensive restaurants! Wings... again OMG, my husband had to stop me from licking the plate!! Bottom line, try it, you will not be disappointed. Very nice, helpful staff at well. :) Thanks for the Great date night :)

My wife and I seriously adore this place. It's awesome down home traditional Brazilian food. Very clean cozy and inviting. Do you're self a favor and try this place out, you won't regret it. I recommend the beef skewer and please try the cheese skewers. Yes I said cheese skewers.

    (5)
  • Suzanne D.

Yes, yes, yes. You can't go wrong here. I've been here several times and am always pleased. Today was a beef skewer medium rare, a cheese skewer (tried this for the first time last time and it became a must-have for me), black beans (I like to add in the powder by the soda machine) and passion fruit drink. This drink is a party for my tastebuds. What adds to this place is the Portuguese-speaking owners and the rewards you can earn. Enjoy Brazilian food without the expense of the other churrascarias.

Great Brazilian food! Went here with my wife for lunch and it was great. Service was attentive, food quality was great and portion sizes were adequate. This is not a Buffett like Rodizio, but the food is just as good. Please support the small mom and pop restaurants! There are too many bad chains on Utah.

  • Brad S.

For the price, I give this 5 stars. If you want better meat choices you'll have to go to Tucanos, but this definitely did justice to the food I had in Rio. The fried bananas were amazing, and the rice and beans tasted exactly like they did in Brazil when I lived there. I will definitely be coming back and I'll try the acai!

  • Tony S.

Fantastic value! The service is lunch counter style. But the dining room is still very nicely decorated and feels so comfortable and appropriate. The food is spot-on. I enjoyed a glazed pork loin skewer with black beans, brown rice, and fried bananas. Also had a pineapple skewer, pão de queijo, and a Brazilian lemonade. All of it was delicious and very filling. I topped it off with a very good pudim de leite. All of it was fabulous. For dinner, it's not a fancy place with linen napkins, stoneware and silverware. But the price makes up for it all. I will enjoy returning here again and and again.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to try Tushar for lunch. This is definitely not the best Brazilian little restaurant in town. The staff was friendly but the food was very bland and overcooked. I did enjoy the fact it had a vegetarian option! thumbs up for that! My favorite was the cod croquette. Delicious! I would definitely go back just for that if I lived nearby but I live in SLC. We both ordered fruit juice and it was extremely sweet, unbearably sweet. This place has potential and by watching the staff they also have motivation but the food wasn't memorable (aside from the bolinho de bacalhau). BY the way I'm from Brazil.

Best Brazilian food I've had in Utah! I had the pork skewer with black beans, rice, and fried bananas. We got some pão de queijo and a coxinha as well. So good! I served a mission in Brazil, and this took me back in a way Tucanos never did!

This restaurant is a very nice looking and even has a fireplace. As soon as we walked in we were approached by one of the owners to ask if we had any questions and if we had been there before. We used a Yelp coupon for free lemonades and ordered our food. I ordered a plate with salad, white rice, fried bananas, and glazed pineapple. We also ordered an order of the Brazilian cheese bread, which only has 3 pieces. The Brazilian lemonade was so yummy and you can add flavors for only 30 cents more. You get a lot of salad, which is tasty. The fried bananas are crunchy delicious. The rice is well seasoned and you get plenty of it. My favorite part was the grilled pineapple. It is sweet, tangy, and has a smoky flavor and they cover it in a sticky brown sugar glaze. My mistake is that I ate the salad first instead of digging into the pineapple while it was hot. So good, but you'll crave it after!

    (5)
  • Josh S.

Finally! A fast and reasonably priced BRAZILIAN restaurant! I too, was invited for a pre-opening taster and now anytime I think about going out to eat Tushar is the first place on my mind! The chicken is amazing (that is what I had) The rice and beans are divine (it took me back to Brasil) suco de cajú (juice from the cashew fruit) suco de maracujá (passionfruit) and the Brazilian limeade are all top notch! If you love Brazilian food, this is a must!

  • Marina L.

  • Michelle D.

'Nuff said.

  • Lisa S.

Love that!

  • Andre M.

Tried the chicken and glazed pork skewers. They were decent but didn't quite pack as much flavor as I hoped. Also tried the cheese bread balls and chicken stuffed bread - they were smaller than I imagined but packed with flavor. Overall the taste barely justifies the price.

Forget about the Brazilian buffets, this place is legit and the prices won't break the bank! You will be happy you did!

It is sweet, tangy, and has a smoky flavor and they cover it in a sticky brown sugar glaze. My mistake is that I ate the salad first instead of digging into the pineapple while it was hot. So good, but you'll crave it after!
